I've run across recently some excellent, excellent harry Potter fanfiction. It starts where the fourth book ends, and takes the series in an unreal direction. I have since sent them to several people, who have unanemously agreed that they are better than the actual fifth book and are very adictive. The real fifth book was 1.1 megs pure text, this one is 1.75, and it just gets bigger. Also, there is a prequel which is another 1.7 megs, written 20 years before the series, so we see the growing up of serious James ETC. In total, its 8.5 megs of literary brilliance. If anyone's interested, send me a pm, I've got it all.

Oh dear. Those unoriginal, uninspired, inbalanced freaks who rip off other people's creativity should be beheaded. Fan fiction is shit, crap, bollucks, and those who read it are frankly stupid. At best, the original HP books are Ok, at worst they are unoriginal, lucky garbage; so, with Harry Potter as the template, the inspiration, the fan fiction that it spawns is by definition, shite.

I'd like to sign up for Fan Fiction! Can you tell me how to do it so I can take a look at this Harry Potter stuff? I'd have you Email it to me, but I think that's a lot of memory to take up.

If you want the Harry Potter fanfics, get the three sequels

from this page

and the prequel from

this other page.

You will have to scroll down a few lines, and the files are zipped up.

I think Fan Fiction is a good way to activate one's imagination, even if it is basically taking others' ideas and building off of them. That's essentially what all writing is I think. Taking your ideas and experiences, and those of others too, and building on them. Have fun guys!

Wishes, I am a fic writer, and I am quite offended by your statement. I might be still improving on my writing since I believe one can never stop the improvement of themselves. I won't mind if you are saying it in a more civil way, but flat out insulting fic writers is not the way to go. Well, I'd admire the pre one, but I believe the J. K. Rowling versions is good enough. I myself have some cool marauder stories, so if you wish, I can give you a good flow of them too.
